Colorado, a Hub of Arts & Entertainment

When it comes to arts and entertainment, what destination spot do you usually think of?

New York? Los Angeles?

Maybe it will surprise you to know that one of the artiest places in the nation is Colorado. That’s right, Colorado.

This beautiful mountain state has become a magnet for world-class art and artists. In the area of visual arts, the Denver Art Museum is one of the finest in country, with some of the best in American art on display anywhere.

The classy town of Telluride is famous across the globe for its great skiing and incredible beauty; on the arts side, Telluride also hosts one of the most famous film festivals in the world. Now in its 38th year, the Telluride Film Festival has showcased some of the greatest films ever made.

Did we mention that Colorado is beautiful? Nothing showcases the stately and incredible landscape like the famous Red Rocks Park with its breath-taking amphitheatre. The incredible beauty is also accompanied by superb acoustics and the amphitheatre attracted names in the past such as the Beatles, the Grateful Dead, Jethro Tull, America, Fleetwood Mac, and U2. Today’s artists such as Coldplay and Celtic Woman have also played at this perfect venue.

Colorado is also known for great theatre. From Denver to Grand Junction to Boulder, Colorado and beyond, the theatre arts in the state are well known for outstanding productions values in theatre entertainment.

So, if you are traveling to Colorado for its outstanding skiing, snowboarding or hiking and rock climbing, do not neglect one of the state’s finest resources:

The Rocky Mountains of Colorado

Colorado is known for many things; skiing, mountain climbing, dense forests and sweeping plains. There is also another natural wonder for which Colorado is very well know – the famous Rocky Mountains.

The majority of the Southern Rocky Mountains, affectionately referred to as the Rockies, lies within the central and west regions within Colorado borders. The highest peaks of the Southern Rockies are all located in Colorado. The highest peak is that of Mt Elbert, which has an elevation of 14, 440 feet and is located within the Sawatch Range.

Within the Colorado Rockies the landscape is vivid and changing. In and around the ranges you will find varying densities of forests, sparkling rivers and streams, confronting cliff faces, sky high mountain peaks and far reaching canyons. Such a diversity of geography provides residents and visitors to Colorado a variety of options for outdoor activities.

Being outdoors is an inherent part of the Coloradan lifestyle. People are always out and about doing something. They could be something sporty, such as going on a hike with friends or water skiing one of the many beautiful waterways or lakes. Or they could be out at one of the many cafes or restaurants that the cities have to offer, there is always something to do.

Colorado is a visually stunning part of the United States. The Rocky Mountains make the state a beautiful, fun and exciting place to visit by providing a playground to enjoy Mother Nature’s wondrous creation. When you come to Colorado be sure to schedule in some activities involving the Rockies so you can enjoy what Coloradans experience every day.

Planning a Perfect Colorado Vacation

Do you know what it takes to plan a vacation? They feel that the ability to plan a vacation is no different than planning a party at home or planning a project. There are many things you can do on a luxury vacation to Colorado, such as skiing, hiking or just staying in a nice cabin with the family and enjoying the view.

Planning the perfect vacation to Colorado should include an itinerary. If you are traveling with a group, like family, you want to make sure everyone is on the same page. Once you have the itinerary set for activities, it is time to choose the hotel. Find out where everyone wants to stay: whether it is a nice cabin or a luxury hotel.
