Things like weather, events, or crime are all detailed right there in black and white for readers. Some of the best elements of the online paper, however, is that readers can leave comments and suggestions, and can foster dialogue between writers and readers.

Taking a look at a hard copy newspaper, and you will see why this beloved piece of morning routine has lasted so long. Things like the sports page allows for those that like to bet to see numbers and statistics. But more importantly, they can take it with them sans cords or battery packs. There is just something unique about an inky paper that brings back memories of morning coffee and funny pages.

The entertainment sections provide movie review and articles pertaining to the latest and greatest of Hollywood royalty, but the days of movie stars being the headliners are a thing of the past. Entertainment magazines have taken over that forum, and it is just as well, there are more important things to read like horoscopes, and sales.

When you think about it, the newspaper is a great way to experience the world around you, to feel informed and educated. That was the intention when it first came into print. To share the world with one reader at a time.

News, Events, and Entertainment!

Recently, we bit our nails watching CNN - wondering whether or not the U.S. Government wouldl actually shut down.

We wonder if the gorgeous new “Tea Party” candidate will be thrust in front of us for the next couple of years until we can’t bear looking at her any longer.

What is entertainment these days?

During the reign of JFK we certainly didn’t flip on our cable in search of entertainment via the latest political news, did we? Current events were described within a couple of days in our local newspapers, and we oohed and aahed over them at that point. We picked up our old corded phones and shared the latest happenings with our families and friends. Now, the latest events are tracked via electronic media, and old news is something that happened fifteen minutes ago. Maybe that serves to take the mystery out of the media, does it not?

So where does that bring us? The latest weather, tragedy, world calamities and suffering is what keeps everyone tuned in. Is it that misery in others makes us somehow feel superior? Do we truly want to help? If so, the media has truly served its purpose in making us aware, in joining us as we could never have been mere decades ago.

When we think of our parents or grandparents’ generations, we ponder how they may have deemed today’s electronics and world progression. We wonder: Would they have been truly mystified, thrown into a “Jetson” type futuristic drama? It makes us seriously consider – where will WE BE in twenty years……

Colorado: A Hiking Destination

Colorado is an amazing destination for a variety of outdoor sports. While skiing gets the most attention, the excellent hiking cannot be overlooked. Colorado boasts 55 different mountains that reach the elevation of 14,000 feet. It’s something of a local challenge to attempt to hike all 55 in a lifetime.While most of the “fourteeners” are easily accessible, others require more technical climbing skills and snow climbs. Amazingly, two of the peaks are even wheelchair accessible. Gray’s Peak can actually be “climbed” by the wheelchair bound, while there is a lift taking visitors to the top of Pike’s Peak.

Crime And children

The increasing criminal tendency in children is one of the main subjects of debates and discussions. Studies reveal that there is a considerable amount of increase in the incidents of committing crime among children. It is a not something to be ignored. It is definitely a matter of great concern. What are the possible factors which contribute to the growth of this behavior in children? Through a thorough and deep analysis of the different factors which can affect the behavioral patterns of a child, we can prevent the abnormal rise in the rate of crime among children. You can find that a majority of these reasons are related to the social, economic and cultural background of a child.

Social factors begin right from the family. Parents should be a model to their children. Children constantly observe their parents and try to imitate. Any problem in the marital relationship in the parents will affect the peaceful atmosphere of the family. This will create a mental strain in the children. This may develop into a criminal nature later. If the partners are divorced the children generally stay with their mother. It will be difficult for the children to be away from their father. This may cause mental strain in them. Children will experience a sense of insecurity. Usually, if the mother is not employed or not having a good job the children will suffer from financial crisis and poverty.

These are possible reasons for developing criminal nature. Friendship is another factor which contributes to this. It should be made sure that the children are having good friends. Friends can direct them towards criminal activity. Increased influence of media also may mislead children. Wrong concept of heroism should not be propagated. In many stories, heroes are thieves or robbers with extra ordinary brilliance and talents. All these will create a negative sense of heroism in children. We can find that all the major factors are related to social, economical and cultural backgrounds of the children and can be prevented with a conscious effort.

Crime And The Society

Crime is the kind of act which is not acceptable by the society and is always harmful for us. Most of the people who act in a crime are the people who are unsatisfied by the society or they do not get what they wanted. So the easiest way to overcome from this anxiety, they feel, is to do crime.

Crime can be of many types. It can be a Theft, Robbery, Murder , Rape or an attack. Some people fell good when they commit a crime. It makes them feel happy from inside. Young people get indulged in crime because they get fascinated by the things of physical world. And due to lack of money the best way they find is to do crimes like theft, robbery or cheating somebody. Brothers do the crime of killing their own brothers in greed of land or money. There have been many cases when a criminal does a crime just for his joy. Making others suffer makes them happy. These kind of people are names psychos in our society.

Most of the time crime is done in anger or in the rage. Eighty percent of the crimes are done under the depression or anger. Some people do crime to take revenge of the murder or insult done to their loved ones. Crime is directly associated with illiteracy. Illiterate people do not know the kind of price they may have to when they do a crime. This deprives them from the fear of law and they easily do the desired crime.

Nowadays due to the expansion of the internet, people are inventing numerous kind of crimes. Everyday people are cheated by using the internet.

Television was a revolutionary invention in the area of entertainment. It has changed the then concept of entertainment. Television was introduced in the market in early 1920s. Then it telecasted black and white motion pictures. Later on, colour was introduced. Entertainment programs, news, comedy programs and many such programs were telecasted through television. But, there was specific time schedule for the telecast. It was also not available 24 x 7.

Then the concepts of channels were introduced. Now there are exclusive channels for each segment of entertainment. There are exclusive channels for music, films, sports, news and many other areas of entertainment. This gives us freedom to enjoy our favorite entertainment programs. Television as an electronic equipment has also undergone a series of changes. The latest innovations are LCD, High Definition Televisions which offers great clarity.

The popularity of television has made it most effective medium of advertisements. Television is the most suitable medium to introduce the commercial products. Televisions take the products directly to the consumer. There are programs on teleshopping which help you to buy things sitting at home. There are exclusive channels for teleshopping.
The popularity of television is used for propagating religious values also. Many religions own television channels through which they propagate the values of the religion, conduct awareness programs and prayer sessions. They also give messages of peace and spirituality.

As any other entity, television is also not free from negative effects. Watching television for long time is harmful for eyes. It promotes sedentary lifestyle. This will lead to lack of exercise. Children become addict of cartoons and other programs. It increases the quantity of electronic wastes containing harmful elements like Lead and Mercury.

Events are the programs planned by the people for leisure, pleasure and entertainment. Events can be of many types. Events are actually done to make people spend money. Now a days people don’t have time to do an event by themselves due to the lack of money. This makes them hire other people to do so. Theme parties are becoming quite famous amongst the children for celebrating their birthdays. Girls prefer theme parties like Hannah Montana and Barbie girl while boys go for Ben Ten and superheroes.

Adult people have their own choice. They prefer parties where they can enjoy the drinks, dance and whatever they can do as their heart says. Sometime these kind of events go in a mess. Youngsters and teens go for the parties where they can do activities free of any restrictions. Their main motto is to have drinks and drugs.
